Business Development Executive – Upwork Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and bid on relevant projects on Upwork to generate high-quality leads.
- Create persuasive, customized proposals and cover letters to win projects.
- Manage the entire sales cycle — from lead generation to client onboarding.
- Communicate with clients effectively to understand project requirements and ensure alignment.
- Maintain a consistent pipeline of potential clients and track progress using CRM tools or spreadsheets.
- Work closely with the delivery team to ensure timely and successful project execution.
- Build long-term relationships with new and existing clients for repeat business.
- Stay updated with Upwork’s policies, best practices, and platform changes.
- Monitor competition and market trends to position services effectively.
Requirements:
- Proven experience working on Upwork or similar freelance platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong proposal writing skills with the ability to tailor content to specific client needs.
- Good understanding of freelancing service categories (e.g., design, development, marketing, writing, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple clients or tasks at once.
- Knowledge of lead generation tools and sales strategies is a plus.
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, IT, or related fields.
- Experience with tools like Trello, HubSpot, Slack, or similar.
- Knowledge of Upwork algorithms, boosting, and profile optimization techniques.
